I'm in a similar boat. Staying at the Renaisance which is on the doorstep of the stadium but like 20+ miles away from airport. I get there on the Friday though, British airways strike permitting!!

Looking on the Phoenix airport website there's set prices at least for the Taxis, so hopefully that'll avoid getting too ripped off. According to the PDF file the zone D for the stadium should cost about $42-$56 which isn't too bad (compared to the amount I got ripped off in New York anyway!)

    http://skyharbor.com/transportation-and-parking/limos-and-taxis.html

All other trips to/from Axxess etc i'm planning on using the velley metro bus links. Looks simple enough on the website, just hope it's easy to spot the stops when on the busses!

whats the deal with the courtesy call???

Do you just call your hotel and they send out a taxi or something for you??? Does it cost you anything? Obviously i would rather do that then pay for a taxi

Im pretty sure the valley metro dosent come anywhere near the hilton squaw peak so that sucks major

if a hotel has a courtesy bus then there will be special phones in the airport near the exit with the names various hotels that do a courtesy bus, you ring the hotel in question and they send out a bus to pick you up, its free to and from the airport

Just checking out the Valley Metro website, and a lot of the transit services stop running, once most of the events are out at night. I e-mailed both Valley Metro and Phoenix Tourism to see if they would have extended services for Mania week, a few weeks back, and no response yet.

Me and my friend are going to try to take transit to most places, but I have a feeling none will be running after some events. Does anyone on here staying at the Biltmore Hotel (or surrounding areas) want to split a cab with my party and yours to save on cab fare?

Not sure if the hotel will have a special shuttle, as somes hotels have done in the past for Mania, but just in case, here are the times we are looking at for taking a cabs, as the rest can easily done by transit:

--> Friday: After ROH back to the Biltmore
--> Saturday: After the last Axxess to the Biltmore
--> Sunday: After Mania to the Biltmore

If you want to share, send me a PM. Even if are only going to one of the events listed above and want to share, that's fine.

    Thanks

Hey I'll be at Arizona Biltmore too, does the metro valley arrive there? I was thinking about renting a car, that'll be the cheapest.

Ya it does, one bus (no transfers,) near the hotel, and it leaves every 1/2 hour, for $1.75. Last bus from stadium to hotel is at 8:15 PM, which does not give very much time to get out of Mania.

For transit, if you check out www.valleymetro.org, just enter in your stop/end location, date and time, and they tell you exactly what you need to take, and how much. Probably just going to get a week long transit pass, since we'll be there for most of the week, and it works out a lot cheaper than a car, since you then have hotel parking fee's as well. Though if you are planning to explore the city, a car would be worth it.

Oh nice, I didn't know that! Anyway since I'm going with my wife and kid we'll be going to explore the city and visit some kid related parks, and yeah with public transport we'd have to get a taxi back to the hotel thursday, friday, saturday, sunday and monday...

I'm sure if you have been to Mania before, you'll know that the chances of getting public transport after Mania is slim. Even with the services in Houston, we still had to walk 3 miles before finally getting a taxi! The queue for the metro was massive even though they had frequent services.

I'd imagine there will be extra services in Phoenix also, but just a warning that getting on is a nightmare!!!

If you are going to multiple shows throughout the week, I would definitely rent a car. You can get a smaller compact car for just a few hundred bucks for the week if you shop around, and you can upgrade to something bigger at the counter if need be.

Last year in Houston the taxi to and from the airport was approx 70 bucks each way, I think the taxi to Mania was about 20-30 bucks each way. And factor in if you want to go out with your family and shop or explore or whatever, the taxi fares add up QUICK. It's so much easier just to rent your own vehicle.

I'll be burning rubber in my Camaro SS rental :):):):):)

Yes I remember Houston, good thing is we were 5 people sharing taxis but I still spent lots of money to and from the hotel. I have just reserved a compact with Alamo from thursday until tuesday for $210, that I think is quite cheap :)

Camaro SS wow! That's what I call going with class to WM! :-)

Yea I rented it from Budget. Budget & Avis in PHX have the LT and SS Camaro's for rent, last I checked the LT was still available but all the SS's are booked for March. I live in Alaska and have always driven big trucks because of the snow and I need to tow my camper in the summer for fishing. Right now I drive a Ford F250 Lariat SuperCrew 4x4, can't even remember the last time I drove a car, I can't wait :D

I think I have never driven a 4x4 :o All I have is my Audi A3 1800 and I'm pretty happy with it, althought I'd like to get a BMW X5 but is REALLY expensive for my budget :(

If you order in the next few days, you should have it by the end of next week.
I have plenty to order, but most cant be bought yet.

i hope so last time it took 3 weeks for my stuff to get here but my stone cold t-shirt was here within a week i dont know why the rest took 3 weeks it was all in the one order too

Why don't you order and have it delivered to your Phoenix hotel? Just ring the hotel and ask them if they are okay with it (just say its a WWE Package & you are worried it won't get to Ireland in time for you going). You can then avail of the free shipping offers etc (no $35 delivery fee to Ireland!) and you'll be guaranteed that it will be there when you arrive.

Thats what I did the last 2 years and I had no problems. I'll order next week again and then it will be deilvered a few days before I get there.

I want the hats and jersey but they show as out of stock on wweshop :(

Guess I'll just wait and get them at Raw or try and sneak in an Axxess show and hit the merch stand.

Thats not a bad idea but alreay placed the order i'll give them a week and if they are not here by then i'll ring up wwe shop and asked them to deliver it to my hotel instead then i'll ring up the hotel and asked but i'm sure they will get here in time
