Updated Jailbroken Phone To Version 3.1.3 By Accident......HELP !!!!!!!

    I tried the steps on the previous page. Got as far as the restore and it says that the file is not compatible?

    Make sure the file ends with .ipsw
    if it says zip at the end just delete the zip part an put .ipsw

    That video was a minute longer than it needed to be. Ya I knew how to change the file type, it still didn't work. Really hating the expensive brick I have at the minute!

    Want to use it with a meteor sim card.

    I bought the phone that was locked to 02 in the uk, but 02 sim cards don't work in it here, i thiought they would be able to work?
    If I go into an 02 shop and ask them would they be able to use the imei number to get the unlock code from their uk counterparts would they do that?

    Also is it normal that I cant use the phone at all? Without a sim it remains locked and I cant access any of the phones applications at all. I thought if it was locked that I would just be unable to use it as a phone and it would be like an itouch not completely shut down like it is.

    Hi there, i got this ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMU9GlIXgRs ) to work fine for my 2g iPhone, however after getting it all up and running and testing everything, i restarted my phone and now only some of the apps work, the standard iphone apps dont work such as phone/messaging/email/settings .. they have all disappeared..?

    is there anyway to upgrade from 3.0 to 3.1.2 on a 3G that is jb and unlocked using redsnow. its gotten to a stage now where i cant download some apps cause they require the new fw, i need the unlock though

    Your phone is a 3g so the above instructions are useless to you , and looks like a reconditioned iPhone by the 5 digits you supplied from serial no.
    If you have the old bootloader ( which I think you might) then it's pretty straightforward.

    Just use redsn0w to jailbreak:

    Cheers for the replies and the help. Will try this before i run for the bus. I got onto 02 uk, they said if i supply them with the make model and imei number that they will unlock it in 7 days. I sent them the info so just hope that I will be able to unlock it properly and not have to go the route of using blacksnow and the like everytime i need an unlock or if a problem with baseband upgrade occurs.

    Will still go ahead with this though and try it, let you know how i got on aswell. Just out of curiosity, what details can you take from the serial above?

    Your phone was made week 25 2009 ... 3rd 4th and 5th digits of serial.

    I can't see the make my life easier option in Cydia, anyone have any ideas? I'm on 3.1.2, maybe I can't see that it's has shsh's unless I upgrade?

    When you open CYDIA on your phone , what does it say above the "Welcome to CYDIA " logo

    If your just jailbreaking to unlock then YES a O2 unlock is better , but I still cant get my head around why your getting "not compatable" when loading the .ipsw file?

    Are you using WIN or MAC ? ..also exactly what stage are you getting the error ?

    I download the file. I had redsnow downloaded aswell and ready to jailbreak and unstsall cydia, but when i go to restore from that .ipsw file it just says that theres and error and that the file is not compatible? I have windows xp on my home computer that i tried doing it on.

    Threre was a update to CYDIA last week , it should be in "changes" ...when you do a complete update it should then prompt you "make my life easier"

    What version of iTunes are you using ? In iTunes : Help/About iTunes

    You can only "Make my life easier" with 3GS....
    if your not seeing it, you dont have a 3gs, or you have done it already

    If your only jailbreaking to unlock then £15 for a unlock is a good thing , plus you will get back the £15 easily as the resale will be worth more due to official unlock .

    I know a couple of people with updated iPhones unable to unlock, would bite 02s hand off if they said 15 to unlock it forever

    Completely agree. Unfortunately now though I have bought the phone from ebay, and 02 (even with the model and make and IMEI) are looking for the registration details. I have tried to explain to them that I bought a display model from ebay that would have been locked to 02 but not registered but there has been no reply frm what is supposed to be a 24hr (maximum) reply service in the last day or so, i'm not holding out much hope now.

    Any ideas on how to best prove the phone is genuine and not stolen, i mean anyone could email them the imei number and make and model so how can i prove the phone is genuine and get it unlocked. I've had a brick for over a month now and really just want to get using my iphone!

    Ok another update to this long saga. I am emailing them now and they are saying they need me to get an 02 sim card and top up by £15 (not sure if it will be more in euro)
    Anyway I have asked a number of times to explain how the unlock will actually occur and no answer so i'm worried that the process they are talking about is for unlocking the sim to all networks and not the iphone itself?

    I've read through a lot of posts today and I know that my SHSH is on file on Saurik's server because I did push that make my life easier.

    That said, I am still not able to downgrade to 3.1.2 I don't know why , I just can't .
