Eplan P8 / AutoCAD electrical

    Yeah, I know there's a cad forum but I reckon this is more suited to a sparks type forum to get real answers..

    I've gotta decide on one or the other for an upcoming project and was wondering what peoples opinions were who are using either for design work.

    At work we use Auto Cad and Visio. Both are fantastic. I don't know Eplan.

    well, in the industry CAD format is the main one used, i know they are both great but drawings a mailed around the house in autocad format, i know there are huge advantages wrt visio.

    that said if its "only" a project then go with the one you know best and have the best blocks and symbols all set out for yourself

    By Visio, do you mean the Electra package?

    Format isn't an issue as the drawings will only be issued as pdf or as paper copies.

    At the moment I just use normal AutoCAD and manually copy and paste blocks, it's not ideal.
