How do you pronounce "ionad"

I was wondering how you pronounce the word Ionad (as gealige).

And is it the correct translation for "Shelter"

Unnad. It means 'centre' as in: Ionad siopadóireacht

Yep, un ad will do.

dídean would be the word for shelter. I assume the context is to give shelter: ie:
dídean a thabhairt do dhuine.

Agreed.
I'd use foscadh or scáthlán. We also use the word Seoltán for a school shelter/bike shed.

Abair.ie will pronounce dídean with or without the fada so you can hear the difference
