Just curious to know, whats the best gift you ever received? It can be something really small, or huge.

Mine was from my sister when I was 7 years old. She gave me $1.27 for Christmas. She saved her allowance (Of 25 cent a week), for 5 weeks, then put it in a card. To this day it still brings a tear to my eye.

I grew up in the states. Been here for 11 years now. Not sure where she found the other 2 cents. Maybe from her piggy bank.

When I was 13 I got a metal pellet gun with an infra-red laser beam attached to it. It took care of the "cat problem".

What do you mean by materialistic gifts surely how the gift is viewed by the reciever is subjective therefore a gift that you may believe to be materilistic might not be to someone else

i.e the first guitar I recieved may be considered expenive/unthoughful but to me was the greatest thing in the world and i haven't stopped playing since. I've been in bands, made great fiends through music, so all in all I see it as being the most holistic gift ever

Actually I thought of a non-bought one that was nice.

When I was in primary school in England, there was this wildlife cards album you got with some product like tea-bags or something and this girl in my class collected lots of the cards in the album, brought them in and gave them to me because she knew I liked wildlife. :o
