    Hello everyone.

My charger for my Dell laptop is broken so I went looking for a new one, Dell the cheeky ****ers want to charge me 50 quid or so. No way.

Any alternative sources to get a 90w AC adapter for a Dell laptop? I went looking around, cheapest I could find was one on amazon.co.uk for about 15 sterling but they won't deliver to Ireland for some reason

However I did manage to find some generic 90w laptop charger from Komplett.ie here for 30 quid.

Does anyone have any suggestions where I could get a cheaper one, if possible?

    No need for that.

Those generic power supplies are rubbish imo. They tend to break, and the ends on them are easily lost. And as well as that, Dell laptops are usually rated at 19.5 volts. Where as that adapter only gives you the option of 19v or 20v. And as well as that, unless you were to collect the power supply from komplett yourself, you'd have to add 15 to that order.

Yeah I've no problem getting out there to pick it up.Would 0.5V of a difference really matter if my battery is already wrecked, which it is?

not really - will keep the lappy powered up.
I used a generic one here on sisters laptop while I was rebuiling/fixing it and 19V or 20V was fine.
The only issue though was that it would refuse to charge the internal battery :( Bloody stupid or what!

Yeah I checked a few others like Max Burns, Peat's and Maplin, can't find anything cheaper than the Komplett one. Might just go with that then even though I won't be able to charge the battery anymore.
