Not a bad idea considering your front door is constantly left open!
Jesus !! I honestly haven't a clue who you are :o But your right about the door, also a little tip, even if it's closed you can still open it by getting your hand in the letterbox, waste of time closing it anyway :P All of the doors in village are the same, well that's what I've been hearing

Meh, it's well known across campus, easy way to stop it is to actually lock the door and not just close it ;)

Well guys, I've been reported to the NUIM officials by a poster for having moderating styles similar to Hitler. Farewell, I shall write to you all from prison.

Does anyone know the craic with the ECDL, I have to do it for economics so do I have to buy a skills card(€40) and then pay for 7 exams(€16ish each) i.e. pay €152?!?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,878 ✭✭✭Rozabeez

Man, we were offered that for 45 in secondary school. So should have done it!

Ugh useless fcuking thing, I did it in school in about 3 months and we all helped each other do the tests, still know as much about MS Excel as I did before I did the ECDL.

Not to discourage you irish_goat, I just think it's an extortionate amount of money to pay for something that you can pretty much teach yourself, like my Mam payed something ridiculous to do a nightcourse for the ECDL, and I still know a pile more about Word and Powerpoint than her simply from using it all the time. On the plus side, you'll fly throught the exams.

Aw naw I don't I need the training it's just that it's a requirement for economics that everyone passes the ECDL. I did one of the ECDL practice papers and really did fly through it. There's not a hope in hell that I'm paying all that just to show that I know how to use a PC.

Lol, I musta come across wrong here. My beef is with the fact that I think to get the ECDL you can't get around paying the €152. I've absolutely no need for computer training.:p

Could you not just pay to sit the exam and not pay for the classes?

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 5,924 Mod ✭✭✭✭irish_goat

See the thing is to register you need the "skills card" which costs €40 and then have to pay for 7 exams at €16 each (€112!!).

I have an A at GCSE ICT which is of a much higher standard than the ECDL anyway, you'd think they could just accept that.

I remember doing ECDL in TY. I finished it within about two months and spent the rest of the time allotted for that class on the Internet. Some qualification.
