He's finished lads, face it. I think Sir Alex knows it too, watch him ship him off to Madrid in the Summer.

Love how when he gets run ragged its always someone else's fault. He was raped by Torres pure and simple and exactly the same thing happened this year again.

    Time to get rid.

    Oh dear Christ. /Rubs forehead.

"cash in on Vidic before he is found out"???

    All defenders make mistakes, all!!!

The best ones as always make the least mistakes.

Dunne made a mistake today, should Villa cash in on him?

I have a feeling I know what O'Neill would say to that.

    Moronic!!!

Haven't had a drink all weekend mate.

I just think Vidic is done, its not the first time I've said I've thought Vidic is a shadow of his former self. Today just added fuel to the fire. 25 million would be fantastic business.

I know its strange to see United fans criticise their own players, but we're not all blinkered fanboys who tow the party line, you know.:pac:

Calm down there. If it was just an individual mistake then yes, wanting him sold would be moronic.

But its not, its a general decline in performance levels since he was destroyed by Torres last year. He's done.

    Well. Name the bad performances?

Bare in mind this was only his second appearance of this calender year, and in midweek he was fantastic and apart from the one instance in the first 5 mins today he did nothing else wrong.

So list his decline, and at the same time compare it to who you think are the best central defenders in the league/world?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

Vidic was excellent against West Ham

today he was very good after the penalty incident, he was left high and dry by Rafael and Evans in that incident and id love to know which defender out there you think would catch Agbonlahor (sp?) in a race after he has a 2 steo head start

he has had injurys all season and writing him off is just foolish

    on to the match

Berba was excellent, and the bit in injury time that has been mentioned, he had just been flattened and was holding his thigh so he couldnt keep up with play imo

Rooney dare i say it wasnt at his best, of course he scored and im delighted, but he just wasnt at his best for me..... /hides/

Valencia was very good also, just wish he would use his left sometimes, it hinders his passing somewhat

    Carrick was awful, just awful

    Evans started shaky but improved

    Evra is a hero

Michael Owen actually looked very sharp and was impressing me, sad to see his body give way again

the best thing that might come of this is it gives us an impetus to go on and win the title now

Naw lad, just no desire to engage in one of your tedious multi page debates which will conclude in neither of us budging an inch from our original position, despite the brilliance and correctness of my rhetoric.

Nor do I want to subject you to the inevitalble headache that will result from you banging your head off the wall in frustration as the scope, depth and aforementioned brilliance of my argument unfolds in front of you, acompanied no doubt by some well-placed and entirely appropriate smiley faces.

    Like this one.:D

Thats being very harsh on the lad...

He had some great moments in the game and had good effort that Friedel did very well to save... I thought he was majestic in the last 10 mins... He popped up everywhere and was a rock and defended better than Evans dare i say...

Its not fair just picking on the lad even when he puts in a good shift

    Brilliant.

No roundabouts, no back and forth.

Simple question who would you replace Vidic with?

So just to clear it up.

You think he's finished because he had a bad game against liverpool last season and made a mistake today when trying to cover for his right full?

I normally agree with what you say but the last page has confused the ****e out of me...

i wouldn't mind if he just said Vidic is not playing at his best, i think we would all agree with that. He has reached those highs on occassion since the end of the 14game goalless run, but he hasn't been that consistent. He has had some very poor games, and some excellent ones.

But to say he is finished is way over the top.

Haven't a clue, I never claimed to have a ready-made solution as to his replacement. Just if 25 mill is on the table for a guy who's in decline, United should snap it up fairly lively. I'd have every faith Ferguson would find a good replacement.

To be fair, Eto'o rinsed him in the CL final for the opening goal, and neither of the CB even bothered marking Messi for his header.

I really rate Vidic, but again it comes down to having a defensive partnership, the individual components have to gel together so that there is a cohesive unit. I think in the past year not many people would argue with the fact that Vidic has been hit and miss when it came to the more important games.

I think that's not down to him being a bad player (he's fantastic imo, and formed the best defensive partnership I've ever seen in the EPL with Ferdinand a few seasons ago), but he seems to need to have faith in his defensive partner before he can shine. Evans has been quite bad recently, and that meant Vidic felt the need to take on an extra workload, and in turn he made a very bad error. However, wasn't it last season with Evans that they formed a record breaking defensive partnership? It's all about confidence imo.

is he in decline or is he finished? A decline can be halted and reversed, being finished is finished.

Thought Carrick had quite a good game today, showed some great composure playing out of defence at times and played pretty decently I thought.

Terminal decline. Decline that is irreversible and inexorable.

I cannot put it any clearer lads, don't make me repeat myself again, it gets boring.

So to be fair your talking through your pipe.

You want to get rid of one of the best CBs in the world but you have no suggestion of how we might compensate for it?

You think everyone is fooled by Vidic apart from you, and you liberally suggest a club would pay 25 million for him, assuming this club has no scouts or network and are blindly paying millions for a player that is essentially failing and will continue to fail. Why not contact one of these clubs and charge a large fee for you insight when it does arise?

You will be a rich man.

he didn't take the game by the scruff of the neck, like he never does, but I thought it was a decent performance from him. Passed well. Had a poorish first half defensively, the entire midfield left too much space between themselves and the defence, but he got more involved in the second half and improved imo.

Not an amazing performance, but a good one. 6.5 out of 10 imo.

when you claim it is an indisputable fact, when all it is in reality is you OPINION, then you should certainly be prepared to back up your comments, extensively.

LOL at the idea Smalling is ready to be first choice CB ahead of Vidic.

Looks promising but extremely raw imo.

    Your right, fook Vidic.

Smalling who I have seen play....am.....well....

    fook Vidic!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,574 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

apart from the penalty incident, what did you make of Vidic's performance? if he is in terminal decline and 'finished' I assume the you feel he was rubbish for the rest of the game, as well as West Ham on tuesday night, rubbish then too, as he is finished.

Bollix. Your talking completely out of your arse.

You want to sell one of the best CBs in the world.

I asked you who you would replace him with, you have no answer.

I asked you to list his decline.

    You have no answer.

I've asked you who you think are the best CBs in the world.

    You have no answer.

    And I'm being childish.

Log off for fook sake, your making a fool of yourself.
