Berbatov running for a ball today, brought tears to my eyes!

United just won the league cup and the debate in here is about what Pato did to Madrid.

    Cool

Does anyone else think Valencia is a bit like Kanchelskis of old ?

    speedy - check
sticks to the wings like an old fashioned winger - check
Whips in a great ball - check
    powerful shot - check
scores more than his fair share for a winger - check

I think everyone is still enjoying the match yesterday and the ol handshake that never was!

Kanchelskis never did it in Europe so he is over rated as per Cantona! Seriously though he took 2 seasons before he establish himself in the first team. Its very hard to compare players sure somebody compared fletcher to him when he was coming throught the youth set up.

Worst trick ever. Its amazing how after doing well at Everton his career went downhill fast. One of my favourite players from that early period of success.

Bauld talk after the sh*tty week your lot have had. :pac:

Wasn't bothered about the Carling Cup before the match, not gonna start making a big deal of it now tbh. No one will even remember this match at the end of the season.

IF you really were cool then you would already know the answer to that question. For shame.

My one main conclusion from today's match is that United should cash in on Vidic in the Summer no matter what. The guy is a spent force IMO and everytime he plays against a striker with serious pace he gets exposed horribly. Time to cash in before Madrid cop this fact for themselves. I'd bite their hands off for 25 million.

Not at all, he's been a shadow of the player he once was since Torres destroyed him last season. Best to cash in now tbh. 25 million would be incredible business.

Pacy strikers terrify him, absolutely terrify him. He should've gotten the line today, was very lucky and not for the first time this season. Its OK to criticise a United player you know.

what i will say for Vidic, is that all defenders hate pace.

for the agbonlahor foul, evans left him high and dry with no cover in the first place.

a lot of it is how much the rest of the team defend too, and how when you come up against pace, you don't leave one of your central defenders isolated against it.

    he's also been injured.

but i agree, he's not been the same since Nando Day.

Iv no problem criticising utd players but what gets me is u criticise him even thou he has been injured for majority of the season and then u go on to say because of torres skining him ,we should sell him, ure off ure nuts, ill do a long winded post tomorrow about how wrong u are

Of course no defender likes pace, but it didn't seem to affect him 18 months ago like it does now. I don't know if its a mental thing or what but he's terrified now when a fast striker runs at him, how many times have we seen him dragging out of defenders this seson? As I said earlier he should've gottne he line a few more times this year from what I've seen. Sad to see such a deterioration in aplayer I once adored.

He was destroyed by Torres that day, he hasn't been remotely the same player since. Thats an indisputable fact.

    i dispute it.

He had a rocky patch around that time, but was back to his best for the last few league games, imo. Has put in some great performances for us this season too.

Ferdinand left him hanging for Torres goals last year. This year he wasnt quick enough to block his shot when he got past Vidic.

Being destroyed by Torres is something than can happen any of the worlds top defenders and cant really be held against the chap. He hasnt really had a proper run in the side this term mostly down to injuries and to a lesser extent suspensions.

Both him and Rio havent played a huge amount of football this season in fairness when compared to the majority of the team.

    Evra has 3256mins

    Vidic has 1748mins

    Rio has 957mins
