Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Blaithnid from the all Ireland talent show and Tony Cascarino according to the independent tv guide!

I wonder will O'Connor ask her about the bullying. Nobody else has addressed the issue with her, particularly Mooney who she is on with regularly, but O'Connor has the brass neck to ask her. I think it's just a question as to whether she is legally allowed to discuss it.

I hope he does.........everyone is dying to know!

Those intro jokes were very poor. I just hope he's as direct with Blá as he's being with Brendan Cole.

I never thought I'd say this, but I actually prefer The BOC show to the Late Late.

    Late late's gone to pot.

I would agree 100%. Not mad on Brendan O'Connor personally, but he's a blunt direct interviewer, and has a sharp, biting sense of humour. You can always expect him to ask something controversial. Tubridy is a wimp, and a FF hack.

"There are horny footballers who wanna get out there and do stuff". Irony much. Can stand this pr1ck.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 2,503 Mod ✭✭✭✭dambarude

The whole thing seems more, I dunno, integrated. It flows much more smoothly than the LLS. Tubs just seems to jolt and jump through the interviews, not engaging in them much. It's so obvious with the political interviews he does that he's trying to score punches, it's just not in anyway natural.

BOC, despite his many flaws, is miles better.

Except this bit. This would fit right in in Tubridy's LLS...

Ha... is that what he looks like?! I only ever heard him before.

He's sounding very learnedy offy- like he's making a state of the nation address.

You'll notice that he didnt take the hard line with the under 150k civil servants that he also normally takes, cos he knows that wouldnt turn a fair percentage of the audience against him.

He's a brother of Fergal keane who is a news reporter for RTE, mostly DriveTime. I listen to him from 12-1 every day rather than listen to Ronan Collins on Radio One.

This fella is a gobsh1te..Hes tryin to score brownie points with the general public by saying words like "slybheen" and tellin stupid stories about fellas in chippers..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,718 ✭✭✭✭JonathanAnon

He has a tendency to be VERY populist though.

He reminds me of a trainee George Lee.

Jaysus .. is there any possibility that he could be worse than John Waters and his songs?

I'll bet after a week listening to him spout off in the same manner, you'll go back to the bould Ronan :D

No, no he isn't. He does have a brother called Fergal who is an award winning journalist employed by the BBC.

RTE's Fergal Keane is fairly litigious about being confused with the other Fergal Keane.

ooops sorry, I thought I heard him mention this before. But when I listened to DriveTime's Fergal Keane I used to think he sounded nothing like him.

I didn't know that but just googled him, he's got a very impressive record.

I'd say Blathnaid took fright when she saw the posts on here yesterday.

Jaysus that Eamon Keane with his unfeasibly large head, that song OMG what was he thinking; what were RTE thinking to let him do it (other than 'let him make a complete tool of himself')

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,609 ✭✭✭deisemum

Blathnaid got off very light here compared to how she's regularly slated on another site. I'm just glad she wasn't on last night, I cannot stand her and that's putting it lightly.

    Was this BOC last show?

I think Craig Doyle is taking over for a few episodes and then Gerry Ryan and whoever has the best ratings gets the job full time

Say it isn't so! How many shots at being a chatshow host are they going to give Ryan? FFS, goes to show once you're in you're in. How many other TV stations would keep giving you chances after you fail so dismally time and time again?

Won't somebody think of the children? Gerry Ryan will eat them!

Somebody posted here before that Brendan was getting eight weeks and then Craig Doyle was getting eight weeks. Not sure about Ryan, but the other lad has been expected to take over the reins.... Pity they are ignoring the elephant in the room... i.e. that Tubridy needs to be replaced...

If what they are doing is running the potential presenters off against each other, then they should give the Friday night job to whoever wins.
