    Hello!

not sure if this is the right forum (please feel free to kick it to the right one) how and ever.....

I have taped a tv show onto my Sony hard disk recorder....have it burnt onto to dvd.

I am trying to capture the music from the ending and use it as a mobile ringtone.....

    How do I do this?

My tech ability is limited, though growing by reading the posts on the tech forum etc, and any help on this would be welcome.....

    Ta....

Pop the DVD into your PC.
    Download Audacity
Navigate to beginning of Theme tune
Press Record in Audacity and Play on the DVD
Press Stop in Audacity when tune is finished
    Crop any silence in Audacity
    Save file
Connect your phone to your PC using whatever cable came with it
(Bluetooth it if you have that on your PC/Laptop)
Transfer saved audio file and set as your ringtone

Tried that....audacity doesn't seem to be picking up the audio from the dvd?

    Neat software though!

You need to set the recording device under Edit > Preferences.

    Try Stereo Mix.

If you can open it with Avidemux you can select the section you want and save the audio from it as MP3.
