or a paysite where you can download movies for a reasonable price

Think http://www.archive.org/ does movies, they wouldn't be the stuff you'd see in the cinema though.

I use blinkbox.com a bit, they have a free section for films and tv shows. It looks like it's all old BBC stuff, but you'll get the likes of early peepshow on it too. The movies are old and cheap but there's a few good ones in there too. They do have a paid service too.
