Saving game progress? SF4 PC

I'm doing a reinstall of Windows 7 on my PC shortly and I was wondering do I have to save any files or is all my character unlocks etc saved via 'Games for Windows live'? Doing google searches just seems to bring back a load of warez links and cheats :(

The save file with your progress should be stored in username/documents/capcom/streetfighteriv/e00000??????

In the folder with all the numbers and letters there should be 2 files replay.dat and save.dat

Back these up.

Reinstall the game and then run it once and log into your GFLW account. Quit out and then copy those files back into the same place of your new capcom folder in my documents.
