Renault Laguna stranded with no keycard.

Right, on the phone to the cousin there and his 02 Laguna is parked up in Galway city centre with a broken keycard and no spare. He's going to have to keep paying the parking meter till he gets it moved. I've told him to get it towed to another cousin's house outside Galway and order the new key from Renault. Altho, towing…

I've told him to get it towed to another cousin's house outside Galway and order the new key from Renault. Altho, towing from where it's parked will be a challenge in itself. I've already rang Renault and they said 5-10 working days delivery and 220euro..

Since it's such a long wait, is there any other options for him?
Keys of ebay and getting them recoded maybe?
