Hope someone can help out here. I recently accidentally clicked format on my external hard drive and straight away plugged it out. Now when I plug it in all the files are random numbers and letters and the drive is unusable. I'm sure the data is all still on there, and maybe the software is damaged? Anyone know anywhere in Galway that might be able to fix this and keep my data? At a reasonable price too :P
    Thanks!

If you have enough space on another drive, to copy files to, try a data recovery program like GetDataBack or R-Studio. There are others too. If you're seeing filenames with random letters etc, at least there is some kind of filesystem left. It is important to not write any new files to the damaged drive, copy anything you can recover to a different drive.

You might want to start with a simple app like recuva.
