ha this thread just reminded me of my little sister.

Not because she scared the crap out of me but because she used to be absolutely petrified of the rain till she was about 4. I remember one day i thought she was going to cry herself to death just because it started raining

The dark, but thank God I grew out of that!

The nite-lite is for decoration purposes only. What?

Infinity. When I was 12-13 I'd lie in bed and sometimes give myself a stomach ache with worry because the concept of dying and becoming nothing forever completely freaked me out and the idea of an afterlife where you lived forever also completely freaked me out.

Not that I ever resolved that one, just got older and stopped thinking about it ;)

Oh and the dark. Nothing specific that I could imagine, just the idea of something unknown out there.

The picture of jesus at the top of my stairs (seen that picture hangin in a few peoples houses), eyes used to follow you.
Didn't bother me till i watched exorcist 3, when u see the statue of jesus wit the bloody fangs. I was convinced the picture used to change to that at nite.

    This fella.

Granted, not that scary in itself but this particular shot was popped subliminally into a street scene during The Exorcist and it scare the poop out of me at the time.

Ten year olds shouldn't be watching that movie. :(

Wasps still bother me..sat on two of the fcukers when was about 5. One got me under the knee cap the other stung me in the gooch (barse).

And there's this old wooden bridge near me that used to terrify the bejaysus outta me when we drove across it! Thought it would break and plunge us to our deaths.

Oh and my wardrobe being open as the clothes hanging there always convinced me it was someone standing in the wardrobe looking at me.

BIGFOOT - he scared the crap out of me...I used to have this massive walk in wardrobe outside my bedroom which I used to attack with a golf club every night (eyes closed) to make sure Bigfoot wasn't hiding in there. Something I didn't trust about him! Also he was massive so I wasn't sure if my dad could take him if he came to get me!

At night always thought there was something in the corner of the dark room watching and those electronic stairs travelators or whatever there called.

    Pylons.

I was convinced they were mechanical beings that moved when you weren't watching them.

I had recurring nightmares as a kid about a bald man with a red beard who drove a white van trying to kidnap me... can still picture him perfectly. Think it got kicked off after warnings in primary school about a man who was trying to lure kids into a blue van with sweets when I was about 6/7.

    The wooden spoon

This was hanging in my kitchen until I was about 6.

Also I saw it again when I was away with a youth group when I was around 13 in a really big old creepy house. I remember being asked to run down to the room to get something and I didn't know where the light switch was and the picture just kept looking at me with his evil sad eyes.

I was afraid of Aliens (as in the movie) would come in my room, so I'd also tuck my feet into my duvet as if that would do any good.

Oddly enough wasn't afraid of Predator cause I knew Arnie would show up and protect me from him...

A bald Sigorney Weaver just isn't as comforting as Arnie is she. In fact i'd rather the Alien in my room than her.

There was this house that was abandoned..but abandoned in a rush..cars still in the garage and furniture and belongings still in the house. It was 'rumoured' to be a Nazi house and people found diaries and German war stuff.....then it was where cult meetings went on and there were dead goats in the hallway like a sacrifice...it was an imagination machine this house..then it was the psycho farmer that wanted to kill trespassers...we used to go there to play army and I used to be so scared from all these stories that I'd climb the same tree and watch everybody else playing!!!

    Diary of Anne Frank..
Started reading it when I was in early teens but then I stared getting getting nightmares about a truck pulling up outside my house and taking my family away to concentration camps. I had to stop reading it and have never done so to this day.
