So, have any of you had success with Sonicbids ? By ‘success’ I mean: you’ve got a meaningful gig or other exposure for your music.

I’ve been with them since last summer and although I’m in a niche (folk / folktronica) and probably “not what we’re looking for” I’m a little disappointed thus far, only getting a couple of minor online plays and definitely no actual shows/gigs.

There are the usual scam merchants up there of course.

I wonder if any artists beyond rock bands have got real gigs with this service ?

    Any stories to share ?

The whole thing seems like a bad idea. Like musicians needed to be more commoditised.

That's mad. I was only looking at the sonicbids site the other day. On the surface it looks like a great idea, particularly if you are thinking of heading abroad. I'll be very interested to hear any stories about it. Was half thinking of joining myself

That's a pity. It is a great idea on paper. I was hoping to use it for getting some gigs in the states. Ah well, back to the drawing board...
