i'm looking for software to lisen to streams of irish radio stations. i know that you can mostly listen from the individual websites but i'd like a small lighweight application that i can run independantly of my browser that could pick them all up in one place.

I found a MAC app called radioshift which looks like what i want but it's mac only...

I know Winamp will allow you to enter/play new frequencies/url's for Irish stations.
(Open up the "Playlist Editor" and click "add" - select "add url" and paste in there the location of the downstream)
The stations as you add them one by one in the list will be saved if you right-click them and select "bookmark Items".

You might find the following useful too: http://www.listenlive.eu/ireland.html
If your using Firefox, right-click on the station you want and select "copy link location" for pasting into the above app.

And to play the files I reccomend VLC.

You can save each of the radio station urls in the list posted by biggins as a seperate playlist.

    All good suggestions so far.
I think the OP is looking though for software to integrate the stations we suggest from the websites we've directed him/her to.
    Two suggested so far.

If anyone can suggest another software tool as good as Winamp to integrate net streams and save them for use later, I know I'd be grateful too.

    • 2FM
    • Lyric FM

there is a win 7 radio player gadget in the package linked above. works a treat and is almost exactly what i was looking for in every aspect except that it doesnt have a record button which would be very handy... but it's great none the less and will do nicely for now.
