Secondary School Teacher's Salary

Hey guys, apologies if this has already been posted.

I'm in my second year of teaching, honours degree and dip. I'm covering a sick leave position for the year so I don't get paid during the holidays and I'm on 22 hours a week. I'm just wondering roughly how much I should be getting paid every 2 weeks because it seems to vary each time and it has gone down since last year with paycuts etc I've spoken to the person who handles payroll in my school and he told me to ring department of education payroll, which I did, and they told me to check with person in school! It's so confusing and I still don't know if I'm being paid the correct amount or if I'm being excessively taxed

hey.first thing to check is to make sure your registered as a qualified teacher with whoever pays you.so if its cdvec/citydubvec/department of education etc you have to ring them,check your registered as qualified teacher.if not then youll have to send in documents to show you are qualified.

also pension and other deductions vary depending if your registered or not.

for the first 150 hours you work in school year your considered casual part time teacher so are paid a common hourly rate
if you work over 150 hours i think it is in one school year then you should start getting wages based on your point of scale as your considered a non casual part time teacher which takes into account years of experience and your qualifications allowances
