Giving up drink, its a big step for me, its something i do every week but it should be good for me and i should save some serious cash!

but I think i will break it for Paddys Day for the day that is in it!

Also got a friends 21st to head to so cant be rude there and not have a few bevs.
Goin away to Amsterdam for a spell so would be foolish not to drink there and enjoy myself.
Then theres the monthly work night out with free cocktails so better off integrating with my work colleagues there with a few long islands.
Also got a wedding anniversary so a few pints there too wouldnt break it.

And naturally there are no Friday nights, Saturdays or Sundays in Lent so will be able to break it then too!

Still it's goin to be quite a struggle!

    Absolutely nothing.

As it's a religious thing, and I'm not a believer.

Oooo I'm giving up believing in God.

Same as last year, and the year before that, and the year before that....

You don't have to be religious/Christian/theist to give something up for lent.

It's a good opportunity to renew those failed new year resolutions IMHO.:)

Not doing it out of religious reasons, due to not being religious but:

    - Bread
    - Potatoes
    - Sweets / Fizzy drinks
    - Junk food.

Giving it up until March 24th... essentially I just want to do a low carb diet and this is an excuse for it ;)

Might start doing more exercise instead of giving something up.
Had to laugh at one of my friends yesterday. She's giving up bars for Lent....but she's allowed Malteasers and Minstrels because they're sweets!!:confused:
No Power Sauce bars for her!!

I gave up giving things up for lent a long time ago, and I've pretty much stuck to it ever since....

Why don't you stop being so pessimistic and give up driving Ferraris while skydiving like a normal person. :pac:

    Same as every other year;

    Sweets
    Chocolates
    Crisps
    Fizzy Drinks

I've given up being nice to people I don't like. You know those people that are in the periphery of your social circle, the ones you have to be polite to for the sake of your mutual friends despite the fact that they're complete and utter brainless twats? Well, from now on they can go fcuk themselves.

I gave up small talk for Lent a few years ago, and I liked it so much I kept it up. Maybe this year's resolution will stick too
