I've never given up anything for lent in my life. Tried a few years ago to give up sweets, only lasted a few days.

Nowt... But I will use this time of restraint and abstinence to do the healthy living thing. I can never do that in the new year - still too dark and cold. This time of year is more suitable for it, imo.

For a day based on an ancient adopted superstition? Nothing.

Life is ****kin short enough and hard enough without giving up something you find enjoyable for lent. Im gonna try and eat, drink, gamble, smoke, and have more one night stands for lent and be proud of that fact.

As the famous quote goes: an abstainer is a weak person who yields to the temptation of denying themselves a pleasure!

    Huh?
What's lent got to do with christianity?
It's so we can make room for all the easter eggs.

You'll life will probably be short if you keep that up, yes.

I am giving up biscuits. I don't eat many. But I shall eat none now.

I usually give up beer, but I am weak this year.

Despite the lack of belief, I'm considering giving up smoking for Lent, seeing as there'll be people in the same boat as me so we can moan about it anti-socially, while looking longingly at everyone else lighting up..
Or I might stay being one of the people lighting up. They seem happy in my mental image.
