    A litre of smirnoff vodka is only 20€ (was 26€) in dunnes stores in sligo.

    Its good if you just want a litre of vodka and don't want to incorporate a 'full grocery shop' into a trip to the North to justify the trip.

    Its actually £18.98 a litre in Sainsburys at the moment so cheaper here.

    Remember getting vodka for 4 quid down in Spain

    How much of that 20 euros is Irish tax.. I'd love to know if they are still ripping us off after tax..

    €31 excise per litre of alcohol, so 37.5% of that is about €11.50.

    Plus Vat which is about 13.80. Then about a 6th of the rest of the 6.20 is VAT so they're charging about 5 quid without tax.
