Books on Irish nouns

Anyone know any helpful books dedicated to Irish nouns? I know it's just a matter of sitting down and learning with this sort of thing, but I'd still love to have an entire book about this, rather than just a section a grammar book.

Any ideas?

No books come to mind. I think Leabhar Gramadaí Gaeilge/Irish Grammar Book deals very well with nouns.

That first book is most certainly what you don't need! A combination of Leabhar Gramadaí Gaeilge and Foclóir Uí Dhónaill/WinGléacht is all you need.

How is that book not what one needs if they are finding all the forms of nouns a problem?

Is Leabhar Gramadaí Gaeilge a good all-round grammar book? If not, which would be best? I'm thinking of making a purchase...

It's not comprehensive, even though it claims to be. Foclóir Uí Dhónaill/WinGléacht is definitely comprehensive and nothing can be more comprehensive than it (new words can be found on www.focal.ie)

It also costs $80 which is a rip off.

Dictionary skills are one of the most important skills a language learner should gain as they'll learn more about idiomatic phrases and variant forms.

I would recommend Leabhar Gramadaí Gaeilge as an advanced grammar book mainly for reference use but its lack of exercises is a disadvantage. My students (3rd level) find they get the most out of it when they use it in tandem with Cruinnscríobh na Gaeilge or Úrchúrsa Gaeilge as there are plenty of exercises in them.

Here's one that's incredibly conprehensive, but a big expensive. But it's worth it if you're serious about what you're doing. I have a copy myself and it's laid out in a very user-friendly way. It's more advanced that your average verb book, in that it not only lists the most common verbs in the Caighdeán Oifigiúil, but it also lists the same verbs and their variants in the three main dialects right under that. It's a must if you're a proper Irish-grammar nerd.
