There is something wrong with you if you cannot taste the difference between the two.

God you sound almost as silly as people who can't taste the difference between coke and diet coke!! ;)

    Diet coke ftw!

Coke wins hands down, but Pespi, tea, water, piss wins over Diet coke.

I love coke, but cant mix it with any alco drinks, just ruins both drinks.

    Amen, taste better separately.

Coke is head n shoulders above Pepsi. I love the way Coke kinda hurts in your mouth (bubble explosion) out of an ice cold can. You know the first sip, that its soo fizzy and cold that ye have to close your eyes and hold your breath for a sec before swallowing.(insert any innuendo ye like :D)

I only drink it when im hungover though. Have weaned myself onto the diet version which doesnt give ya the same "hit" but does the job.

    Pepsi's vile.

Exception to this is if you have a night out intending not to drink any booze, but as the night progresses you lose your resolve. In this scenario beer suddenly starts to taste even better than usual. .... and friends more interesting , women more attractive, me more charming etc etc

there most certainly is a difference. I'd pick coke over pepsi, but just about. they're both nice to me in their own ways

They do indeed taste different: most people actually prefer Pepsi if given Pepsi and Coke in a blind taste test. Pepsi realised this a few years back and started doing the Pepsi challenge (anyone remember it?).
Coke remains more popular though and is held up as an example of a marketing victory - Brand recognition is the key.

TK Cream Soda is my drink of choice, but I can't get it here in the UK.
I also love Tanora, but I can't get that in Dublin very easily.

If anyone in the UK knows of a good Irish drinks company, let me know.

Don't like the sugary variants of either. Hate Coke Zero, hate Pepsi max.

Diet coke is okay but Diet Pepsi is hands-down the winner.
    I miss lime Pepsi.:(

    Cream soda - yes.

You can get Tanora in Tesco.

I'll look for Tanora when I'm home.

The cream soda in the UK, or at least every brand I've tried, is vile, nothing like TK cream soda.

Cream Soda is the worst drink ever, makes me puke.

Eh, they're both equally bland. VANILLA Coke, though...

    Vanilla Coke, ftw.

Would agree for every variety with the exception of TK and some stuff I bought that came in beer can size up North.

Seems TK have ceased manufacturing Cream Soda, Raspberry and Ciderette.
I'm VERY pi55ed off about this.

There's so much less variety in the last few years or so.

Raspberry as well! I love raspberry!

On cream soda, Country Spring's version is gorgeous.

Distant second place to TK for me.

I'm actually pretty angry about this, I never tried the raspberry TK.
My favorite drink here in the UK is raspberry and apple stuff, and the big supermarkets don't stock it anymore either.

The supermarkets here pull the good stuff to replace with their own brands, most of the own brands taste horrible. Asda is a particularly bad offender for selling bad own brand stuff. It's a whole level below the Irish supermarket own brands.

Does anybody actually choose Pepsi? I always thought it was just a Coke substitute, and sometimes they trick you into buying it.

Like I said, take away the brand dominance of Coca-Cola and more people would choose Pepsi. People tend to go for what they recognise, the familiar. This is especially true with brands of drinking water.
Pepsi keep relaunching to try and kick start their brand, but Coca-Cola have the crown. There are some areas in the states wher Pepsi reigns supreme though.

No, take away Coke and people settle for Pepsi. Nothing to do with brand dominance more to do with Pepsi being cack water.

You'll have to trust me on this one, people generally prefer Pepsi, but tell them what they're drinking before they taste it and the results change in favour of Coke.

Of course alot of people will just prefer Coke anyway, you obviously don't like Pepsi, but not the majority that the poll in this thread would suggest.

This is a prime example of why successful companies place so much emphasis on marketing; the product itself is only part of the equation.

Personally I now try to avoid taking any kind of fizzy drinks but if forced to choose one I would choose a can of coke over pepsi any day.

Its not about brands its about taste and the buzz you get from it and personally I prefer coca-cola but each to their own I guess.
