HP Deskjet F4580 (wireless all-in-one printer, scanner & copier) - €49.99 [PC World]

Sorry for digging up an old thread, but a heads up for anyone who picked up this printer and is looking for ink.

I know Inkmaestro (linked on p1) are Irish but I have found the ink (1 black and 1 colour HP 300) almost €10 cheaper on MX2.com

Inkmaestro 1x CC640EE(HP300 BLK) €13.75, 1x CC643EE (HP300 TRI) €16.50.

€30.25 plus delivery of almost €6 (€4.93+VAT), so €36.20 delivered.

MX2.com 1x CC640EE £10.99, 1x CC643EE £12.49 = £23.48.

Delivery on MX2 is free, so works out at €27ish delivered.

MX2 have the 300XL Black available for £19.99 but not the tri-colour one.

Does anyone know if these are stll going for the same price in PC world?

I need a cheapish printer and this would do the job nicely..

Should still have some in PC World Blanchardstown at €59.99. They had around 20 on Saturday.

Still great value at that price considering what you're getting.

A set of black and colour cartridges come pre-installed.

Out of stock in PC world limerick walked 100meters down to currys and same deal there so i presume its the same nation wide in both pc world and currys

Received my C4780 from Amazon today.

Very impressed with it and easy to set up wirelessly.

It worked out at €66 delivered....

This week, out of the blue I decided I wanted to upgrade my printer. I came across this thread through Google and found it very helpful and I really wanted the F4580 after hearing all the good reports about it.

I first went to PC World, The Square (Tallaght) - the printer is now €110. I spoke to one of the sales reps and told him I "knew of somebody" who got one a couple of months back for €49.99. He said it must have been a promotion and €110 is now the price however he said he'd do me a deal and let me have it for €80 (which was pretty reasonable of him:)) but I decided to look elsewhere to see if I could get it a bit cheaper...

My next stop-off was Harvey Norman's in Nutgrove - unfortunately they didn't have this printer any more and gave the impression they wouldn't be re-stocking them:(

I checked Argos and the price there is also €110.

I'd just about given up hope when I decided to try Power City on the off chance.. and there it was for €59.95

:D So I'm now the owner of a HP F4580 wireless printer;)

And I have to say, so far I'm finding it fantastic! I've only printed off a couple of things - a test picture, bit of text etc.. but it's very fast and prints decent quality so happy days! Installation, although straight forward and very easy, did take a little while but it's hardly a complaint - PC and two laptops hooked up to it now and running smoothly:p

So just thought I'd give this thread a little BUMP as €59.95 in Power City was still a bargain in my opinion

Did the one you bought from powercity come with ink?

just an edit, can anyone tell me if its possible to see the MAC address of the printer in its settings? My router is mac address filtering enabled, so before i buy one, i need to know if it'll work on my network...

Hiya:P. Yes, the one I got came with a black and colour cartridge. And there was a lady behind me in the queue at Power City who said she'd bought one of these printers recently and that the ink (that came with it) lasted a good while! I can't vouch for this myself as I've only used mine a handful of times, but sounds promising

I bought one in Feb. The sales assistant said the cartridges were only test ones and would only print a few pages. Its May now and the colour is only now starting to wear out.

resurrecting this thread again folks as was looking for a cheap printer and found the HP Deskjet F4580 for around €55 delivered from amazon. Still a good deal

There is a dos command arp -a which will list the MAC address of all devices and the corresponding mac address.

If your MAC address is not on the list, Ping it and it will appear on the list.

To get up DOS just type CMD into the run / search box.
