ive been texting this girl for awhile there and ive been with her a few times aswell,

most people sorta know theres something goin on between us but progress is fairly slow just the way it is.. anyway some one asked me was i going out with her last week, i wasnt so i said no, then they asked was i meeting her? as far as i know i am so i said yeh a bit

i was talkin to another lad then and he said oh shes into you and everything, you should start meeting her..

what the hell is with this? or where did i miss out on the definitions..

Meeting someone means getting with them every so often.

Going out with someone means you've actualy decided you're ''going out''.

i'd tend to agree with Chocolate Dots

'Meeting' means you've kissed (or whatever) and did it more than the once. Hence the "ing" part :P (lol) It usually implies you've kissed a person a few times or can mean you had one or two dates.
Most people use the term 'Met' to say they kissed a person. Usually once. Again the "ing" part suggests more than once :P

If you've had a few dates... then :
    'Seeing someone'
1, pretty much means your in the dating phase before saying you are in a relationship. (eg you've had 5 dates with a girl. you both want to continue to date or get into a relationship - you say 'seeing' cause no one wants to say "oh shes my girlfriend" before anything is official to avoid scaring them away :P )
2, It can also mean the person has a boyfriend / girlfriend in certain responses but thats irrelevant to the question. (eg, are you single? - oh sorry im seeing someone) But thats only as a response. Most people would say "oh sorry i have a boyfriend / girlfriend"
It always means the bit before getting into a relationship when its a statement.

Of course. This is all relevant if your not dating an 18 year old girl that still has the highschool syndrome lol. Ever hear them? "oh i'm meeting jay!" - she kissed him once. LOL. :P Or the better one "jay is me boyfriend" - they went to the cinema twice. LOL!
