    Hi everyone,

First post on boards.ie so hopefully I am in the right section.

I am currently working in England but my girlfriend is from Dublin so I have asked my work if we can come to some sort of arrangement where I can work from her home for some of the time and I’ll commute back to England and work here for the other half. Probably 50/50.

Any travel would be paid for by me not charged back to the company.

However HR have said they need to look into things as they expect there would be some extra costs to be incurred by them – which I assume would be possible taxes or national insurance payments to the Irish authorities.

Does anyone know whether there would be any charges like this? The more I think, it is a bit of a grey area in terms of who I would pay taxes to but I assumed as it was only temporay move it would be the equivalent of me working abroad which I have done in the past on New Zealand and USA for the same company but had no issues there.

    Thanks,
    Phil
