Cancelling UPC

    Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone had the email address or direct fax number that I can send a cancellation request to Ntl/UPC.

At this stage I have given up hope of ever being able to speak to someone in 'customer care' or ever having the numerous erros and difficulties with UPC resolved, so I think I will just send in a notice, and instruct the bank to cancel the direct debit.

I don't think I have ever dealt with a company with a customer service as poor as Ntl/UPC, and I wish I had never gone near them.

I used resolutionteam@upc.ie. The response was quite fast for NTL, less than 48 hours.

Call them early in the morning and do to the technical support section (report a new fault). Then ask to be transferred to the customer loyalty department.

    Thanks mate.

Did the above address act on your cancellation request.

Also, am I right in thinking that with NTL, your billing is always so that you pay in advance, i.e. you pay for the forthcoming month's service?

Thanks for that email address - Customer support is pathetic - its so bad they do not even reply when you are trying to give them business.

UPC - you always pay in advance for your services

When you call to cancel you will be put through to a cancellation specialist who will try to change your mind. You will then be given the email address and a different postal address to write to cancel.

Make sure you log each operators name and the time of your calls as your cancellation request will probably be ignored and you will continue getting bills.

Cancel you direct debit with both your bank and UPC.

If you are having any problems contact ComReg and they will give you advice on dealing with UPC.

I cancelled with UPC recently.Ring them let them know you are cancelling.
Then send an email requesting them to cancel your account
email address is resolutionteam@upc.ie. You will receive an email back from them in the next couple of days saying it takes 30 days to cancel.

Once the service is cancelled, ring them and ask them to collect their equipment, otherwise they will send you a bill for it's non-return..

Unfortunately I will be leaving the country at the end of April as my company is moving me to the Paris office.

I thought I'd have the service cut one week before I actually leave Dublin so when should I, at the latest, inform UPC? I know it's 30 days prior the cut date and I guess they won't pick up the box either on the actual day...

    What to do?

I don't want to start my new Parisian life with fighting UPC for months... ;-)
