My dad used to have a 1.5Ti in the early 80's until a drunk driver in a milk truck decided to write it off. Still says it was his favorite car.

If by swimmer you mean it was imported from the UK, the 'ZO' bit of the registration plate shows that it wasn't.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,811 ✭✭✭✭Slidey

But if it was brought in before 87 would it not have gotten a proper old style plate?

On the subject of swimmers,it seems ironic that so many cars are brought to Ireland from the UK because the dont exist here anymore and at the same time people warn against buying cars in the UK because they'll be rusted from road salt.
I suppose its down to the sheer numbers sold in the UK:).

Say you bought one of those kits and brought it in here, how on earth would you register it?

Well. It's classified a kitcar. I'm not sure about the rules in Ireland, but worst case, register it in the UK first, them import it.

Sadly no pics, but I saw today in Clonee Village a white Saab 99, ZV plates and in good condition, RHD car.

    Must be quite rare.
