Pretty much all branded memory cards are made by the same company in taiwan, all you really need to look for is a high speed card (SD cards have speeds, more up-to-date formats are all the same speed really).

After that it's up to the device and how fast it can shove bits at the storage controller.

Most memory cards of SD type should be waterproof, once you dry them out afterwards. The innards are usually coated in silicon anyway.

    Be Carbon? :D

Does anyone know of a good retailer (online or bricks and morter) for business cards? I've been looking at a few sites, and I'm getting mixed reviews for a lot of them. I've looked at Vistaprint, Moo, Print 24 and a couple of others I can't remember now. It's a fairly plain card I'm after, nothing too complicated.

Dunno if this thing is gonna require a HC speed class card. I think middle of the range(2/3 IIRC) will do. The one I used above is a cheap as chips 128MB the my brother used in a phone, thing its damaged to, crashed the phone when the brother tried to copy the stuff off it.

In any case, for the price who cares?:D

Ive tested it with my Sandisk (only use the best i my camera as i shoot in raw and want a fast write speed card.) and there was a noticeable difference over the card that came with it. If i stick em in my laptop and copy over the same file i get an average transfer speed from the sandisk of 26-30mb per sec whereas with the original card (and a load ove bought over the years from ebay etc) i get a lower transfer speed of about 6mb per second. a huge difference really. :)

Afghanistan has always been a tough gig, but at least there's one compensation: the view.

    Pataan%20Product20100108adf8255596011_lo.jpg

While Australia swelters in summer heat, soldiers from Australia’s Special Operations Task Group (SOTG) in Afghanistan make the most of a winter wonderland.

    High-res.

These guys are on an outreach/medical/hello patrol to villages in the highlands. Vehicle is a Bushmaster. I just thought this was a great photo.

Yeah, I tend towards sandisk myself. Why wouldnt you when mymemory.co.uk (great site) sell them at such reasonable prices.

The cam is shooting at around 1000Kbps(1Mbps) so a card that can do two or three should be safe. I'll test the ****ty lexar card tonight to see what thats doing.
