Id say the likelyhood is he's dead. If he was alive, it would be a huge achievement for Al-Queda to say that hes evaded the US for so many years. He would surely be releasing bulletproof videos of himself where there is no doubt of his identity.

Any up and coming extremist has to measure himself up against Ossie.

Probably better if you are an up and coming extremist if he is dead. He is less likely to pull off a spectacular and upstage you.

Given a bit of time he could be turned into some sort of religious icon. Sort of a Jesus/Allah type but with a bit of bite.

If he's alive then the CIA are bloody inept.. it would take a large network of people to keep him hidden and supply his tapes to Al Jazeera etc. A larger network than would be possible to keep hidden from the US
