Im hoping for DCU next year, just thinking about Accomidation?

Hampstead vs Larkfield for first year?

I heard hampstead is comfy and larkfield is the party one??
    Is that right?

Or is the craic as good in hampstead, too?

    cheers:)

Go with Larkfield. You'll have another 3 years to try out Hampstead in the future, but if you want the craic Larkfield is much better. Sure it's a dump, but that's all part of the experience :)

Yeah Larkfield for sure, you'll be surrounded by other first years who'll want to meet other first years so you'll make friends quicker.

Depends what you want. I've friends in Larkfield and have been there a few times, its party central! But Hampstead always struck me as more comfortable.

Personally I wouldn't bother with campus accom, it might be closer to your classes but then you're tempted to sleep in later and generally miss a lot. I moved out recently into just a normal apartment only a short walk from DCU and I have to say, as opposed to friends in student-aimed accomodation, I much prefer it. No annoying inspections, in general its much cheaper than campus, I can bring whoever I want home, and all-in-all it just seems like a nice home-away-from-home. I also live with my mate so it's not like I'm put together with a randomer who could've turned out to be a psychopath.

Student accoms always struck me as kind of sterile, but thats just me!

Depends entirely on the type of person you are. I haven't noticed many parties. The main social event seems to be fire alarms tbh.
I guess if you go to the common rooms you'll meet more people but they often close and security are pretty strict.

Also you're way more likely to get larkfield as a first year, very few 1st years are in Hamstead,it was my 1st and 1nd choice yet I still got larkfield.

The main advantage is being so close to classes, you don't really have an excuse not to go. Its only a 5 min walk to most places on campus so you can go societies, stay late to get assignments out of the way and can just go home for lunches
