I'd imagine so, but that's quite sad really.

It's not that you complain about gay promiscuity but that you acknowledge that in reality it is male promiscuity.Straight guys would do the same if girls were of the same mind set.

2 of my great uncles are homosexual and also a couple of cousins

Promiscuity is found in both homosexual and heterosexual persons. Some are just more discreet than others about their promiscuity

I've no problem against 'gay saunas' myself. Though I can understand it raising eyebrows. I remember when I first realised that they were common in Dublin.

A German tourist basically came up and asked me about a place called 'The Boilerhouse'. I didn't know were/what it was, so I googled it, found the website and location and sent him on his way.

Needless to say, I started having a browse on their website, innocently enough. It became pretty obvious when I saw you could rent out rooms with balck leather beds, buy whips, 'male phaluses' etc. what exactly was going on.

The hilarious thing about it though is that the place itself is in a laneway in Temple Bar / directly across the road from City Hall / Dublin Castle.

I must have walked by it dozens of times and never noticed.

As for the northside, there's a similar sauna / 'B&B' along Ormond Quay. I think it's called 'The Dock Sauna'(?).

It is amazing what you get to know about our dear city when working with tourists.
