For the uninitated, Nightflight is a collective that comprises four sets of Dublin promoters that joined forces to become more than the sum of their parts. It started off as a weekly clubnight in the Button Factory in May 2008, with a diverse music policy that can take in everything from the campest disco to the roughest techno. Guests have ranged from techno overlords like Len Faki, Tony Lionni and Steve Bug to disco legends Nicky Siano and Francois K, not to mention nu-disco heroes like Danny Wang and Tensnake and fresh-as-a-daisy house producers like John Daly and Nick Curly

That's before you even get a shot at shouting out to the wealth of local talent that has graced the stage there - Calvin James, Handsome Paddy, Tu-Ki, Shocko and Aaron Dempsey to name just a handful - as well as the incredibly sexy and debonair residents. There's too many to name right now, but rest assured they are sexy, they are debonair, they are thoroughly modern dandies with record collections that weigh a bloody ton, even if some of them are playing off CD's nowadays.

Significant notches have been added to NF's bedpost along the way, with a festival on the Adriatic Coast called Airbound chief among them. The party in Button Factory is now a monthly taking place on the last Friday of each month, with only the finest international guests reserved for that one. There's also a monthly slot in Bia Bar ( Lower Stephen's St, near the old Break for the Border) - where a smaller room accommodates the funkier and more leftfield sounds of the 'Flight, and a regular low-roofed house and techno rinseout in Pygmalion on South William St too. Throughout 2010 the Airbound series will continue with a boat party on the Thames and one offs in other European cities of note..... Strap yourself in and prepare for take-off!
