Orchestra playing popular/rock music.

Hey,

I'm looking for a CD of popular and rock songs played in a classical way. (nothing else matters - apocalyptica is a great example). I have tried google, but it's coming up with things like bitter sweet symphony which has a string intro.

Is there such a thing as a CD like this? It is to be played in the background at a dinner and I think it would be interesting to have songs people would recognise, played in a different way.

The string quartet stuff is great, look for the Strung Out or Vitamin String Quartet cds. If you want a full orchestra there's plenty of that too, here's an example;

Try out Christopher O'Riley's piano arrangements of Radiohead: True Love Waits and Hold Me To This. (I haven't yet heard Hold Me To This, but True Love Waits is excellent.)

Have a disc (or 2) of these. If you like The Beatles, or baroque music, may be of curiosity value.

I was gonna write a set of variations on Faust Arp for piano quartet at one stage. Should get back to that...
