GSHP: coils affected by the recent weather?

I'm more-so wondering if anybody has seen evidence that the efficiency of horizontally installed ground source collectors has been affected during the recent cold weather?
Are the collectors installed deeper in colder countries than how they are here?

what kind of supply line/ return line readings are you seeing on your heatpump?

Mine hit -3 out and 1deg in the other night - deff affects the COP of the heatpump.

I would like to see how Air source coped with the last few weeks. I saw one house where it was about 26 Degrees, I have a feeling it was struggling that day, and the its going to be a shocker when the ESB bill arrives.

The real cold has to be effecting it, ours is down at 4ft with a 3" of sand above and below. It definately spent more time running that it normally would so the ESB will be interesting

That's a very warm temperature to heat your house to - a big electricity bill is only to be expected if that level of heat is wanted.
