Nordie Tayto just taste like any old brand...like Walkers or Kings or whatever...Southern Tayto have a unique quality no other crisp brand has.

    Apparently not.
Tayto (Northern Ireland) was formed in 1956 and licensed the name and recipes of Tayto in the Republic of Ireland. The two companies operate entirely separately, but have a similar range of products.

Kilbrew, to be precise. They just put "Ashbourne" on it to make it sound more familiar to Dubs. Much more Curraha than Killeglan/Ashbourne.

I live ten minutes down the road. 5r for a box of crisps ain't bad :D

King Crisps, by a million miles.

That said, even Tayto pisses over all those foreign crisps - Pringles, Walkers and any I've had on my travels on the continent or in Japan.

Ireland are world leaders at making crisps.

    Amen brother!

That being said, lays aren't bad either when you're on your holiers.
Also apparently Mr. Tayto makes 7.5 million packets of crisps a week. I would like to take this opportunity to point out that anyone who says package of crisps, or even worse, package of crips, should be forcibly sterilised!

King every time. When I was a kid there was far to many green and black bits in Tayto and still to this day I can't eat a packet without having to inspect each one.

King C&O with a packet of salted peanuts while having a pint!! Salty goodness.

And after been out on the lash, white bread, butter, King C&O, cheese and mayo with the extra crisps on the side.

Of course though nothing beats them on their own, I like the new luxury ones aswell there is a stronger flavour off them and more in a packet, the light ones are also yummy as they seem, well lighter!! :D

King Cheese and Onion have not equal as a crisp, I use to be a big Tayto man but when I discovered King, I have never looked back. Legend Crisps!

Also, For Salt and Vinegar check out the Tesco Finest ones, unreal they are!

I thought King were made by Tayto.............

Anyway, I prefer Tayto, but as a kid I loved Perry Pub crisps.

Now my favourite is San Carlo Rustica

Over Christmas I got a 12 pack Tayto Cheese and Onion - they are so flavoursome I cannot eat them. It's like they went through the flavourisationing machine three times. Awful!

I have it on good autority (grandmother worked at Tayto for 20 years) that they are the same crisps in different bags.
    Your grandmother is wrong.

It's King for me, although I'm also partial to Perry Pub Crisps that came in a black packet were fantastic, but I only knew of one pub that sold them and then they closed down. :(
