eircom broadband noob question

its probably a dump question but can anybody ans this for me please?

i have eircome broadband in the house(i dont use there land phone), my house was built 2009 and wired up every room with a phone extension and all the cables run to attic, and the main one in hall way which have there logo(i belive its call master socket).

now problem is my router only work when i pluged in hall way. not anyother phone socket in the house. i want to pluged it in sitting room so i can connect lots of my gadget in sitting room(wii, xbox, dreambox, server......)

is it possible?
if it is can anybody give me a step by step guide,

I have couple of gaming adaptor, but need a wired internat connection for better speed. i just wondering how come its not possible to connect the router in sitting room? Is it not possible to loop through?

are you sure the phone socket in the sitting room is connected properly or at all?

Have you moved the filter to the socket in the living room?

How can i check if its connected or not?

Plug a phone into it and see if you get a dial tone!

Most new houses have a white connection box at the side of the house its normally flush in the wall,open the lid and see if all the wires are connected to the incoming pair from Eircom.
