Why do you frequent boards?

I'm interested to find out why boards members keep coming back to boards?

Would it be the sheer enjoyment you get in AH...?
Would it be to post on a more serious note?
Would it be because there is absolutely nothing else to do in work and extremely bored?

I find I keep coming back for the first 2...

But what do y'all think?

I tend to think of myself as a one man wolfpack. But when my friend visited boards on my laptop I knew it was one of my own. And my wolfpack, it grew by one athletics forum. So there were two of us in the wolfpack. I was alone first in the pack and then the athletics forum joined in later.

And 2 months ago, when some poster in athletics introduced me to you guys in AH and also the ranting and raving thread I thought, wait a second, could it be? And now I know for sure that I just added two more threads to my wolfpack. Four of us wolves, running around the desert together in Las Vegas looking for strippers and cocaine. So tonight, I make a toast..............To boards.ie!!!

Depends what mood I'm in.

Sometimes I avoid the serious topics, other times I look for them; same with the silly stuff. You can be having a serious debate with a poster on one thread and thinking "what an idiot" & laughing at a funny, clever post by said same poster on another a minute later. What I like about boards is you get it all under one roof, so to speak - and with pretty much all tastes catered for, it doesn't get all boring and samey. :cool:

It's really informative. As well as all the pointless but lots of fun AH threads this place is always completely up to date with news stories.

There's always someone who will help. I've never visited the DIY forum before but this week I needed help/advice about my not-working shower. The plumber who replied to me there was so helpful, did everything he could to advise. Same when I frequented the learning to drive forum. I can't help with DIY problems but I do reply in PI, fashion and appearance, other random places so hopefully I've helped somebody in return.

There's a forum here for everything be it dogs or weddings. Chatting about it here with others who are equally interested means you don't have to bore family and friends.

I check bargain alerts almost every day too.

Spending an hour on here distracts me from whatever today's problem is so it's relaxing in that sense.

Those would be my reasons for being here but then there's that "someone was wrong on the internet" line which is probably what keeps loads of us on here for much longer than intended.
