    HI,

My Toshiba Satellite picked up a virus last weekend. To make a long story short I have ended up backing up all my information and running my Toshiba Recovery CD-ROM to wipe my laptop and re-install all my software.

Since I ran the Recovery CD-ROM I am getting a Blue Screen
""a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer." STOP: 0x0000007b.......etc.

I have been searching the web for an resoluiton and it seems I might have a "Boot Sector Virus" or not???

I cannot get into windows any way even in "Safe Mode" or command prompt.

Can anyone help me to get my laptop back on track.

    Thanks in advance.

might be a gammy restore cd, try a normal windows cd,

if it BSODs too, then you probably have and AHCI hard drive set-up

either find the AHCI drivers or change it to IDE in bios

    boot xp cd
    press r for repair mode

when you get to DOS do each of the fallowing
    chkdsk /p
    fixboot
    fixmbr
    exit

go into bios and change back to AHCI,

    remove xp cd

boot from hdd with fingers crossed
