    Hi everyone!
just registered hoping to find someone who could help me with the usal USB/PVR problems...

I updated the FW to the last version (4.48) but i get always the same:
    - crashing recordings...
    - "usb nearly full" message, even if it's 10% full
    - decoder unable to recognize the USB HDD... so i have to turn it off and then on until it works

I use a "LACIE - 500 GB" external drive with, external power supply

PS: i'm from italy... sorry for my english...

I had the same problem with usb key, changing to a new hard drive solved the problem. I made sure the HDD I bought was usb high speed 480Mb/s
I now seem to have similar problem where play back vanish close to the end of show.
It is recorded because the same recording stops at different points always close to the end.
Has anybody notice a IRISH EPG offset in time?
I recorder 2 shows recently with the Irish EPG and got lots of the previous show and i am missing the end...

I had the same issues with some usb keys and drives not being recognised. All were usb2.0, so not sure that that was the issue. Just the Mvision box seems to be a bit picky what drive gets plugged into it. Funny, when I was buying drive for it, it was a choice of the LACIE 500gb or Buffalo 500gb, glad I went for Buffalo. Still, get messages the odd time still that hard drive full. Seems to be one of the still unfixed bugs, unless someone else on here knows better.

@Upsilon, it maybe a stupid suggestion, but check the time on the box. If the time is fast, it’ll start recording early and finish early. Maybe even put it back a few min even if the time is right, although this might mess up recording on other channels if this is RTE only issue.

I set the time to be set by the broadcasting signal. Not sure when does the box acquires the time. If one watch satellite the time may come from astra, this might not be the same as the one broadcast by DTT. also I cannot imagine them being more than a few seconds a part.

Main advantage fast and very very quiet.

My 'USB Full' problems stopped when I put in 4.41
    I haven't upgraded since

I use a cheapo 2 gig SD card and adapter

thank you, but my LACIE is a 480 MB/s too... so i'm not so sure this will be the solution.
Hope that mvision will develop a new FW fixing this issue, but i'm afraid they're more concerned with their new 300 series

Anybody here tell me how to set up my phillips lcd tv to the hd 300 remote? I must be doing something simple wrong. The instruction manual says enter a 3 digit code but the codes are 4 digits?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,045 ✭✭✭slegs

Use the 4 digits I believe that is a typo in the manual (was there for the 200 also)

had the same problem with hd200 and Panasonic tv, make sure you are looking at TV codes not VCR or DVD codes.
In the end I had to find by manual scan, did not took to long, may be a few minutes and a dead finger.

cheers ill give it a go

Had same issue with last one I got, couldn't find 4 digit codes the remote wanted. The remote codes below are only 3 digits. Had to manual scan, which luckily didn't take long (found within first few). Thing is, didn't have this issue with first box I had, but don't remember where got 4 digit codes from. Must have a dig out and see if can find them.

No i cant get the remote to double flash now on the tv button. Perhaps i need to take out the batteries for a certain amount of time to reset the remote?

Sorted cheers lads, this receiver is not a bad bit of kit. Going to try and play an avi file now. One thing i have noticed, since upgrading to the latest 4.54 s/w the channel editor when saved will not load back into the Mvision? So ive put all my favourites (Ire/UK) into the favourites. Also its receiving the NBC feeds in NTSC from Telstar perfectly. MY TM6900 struggled with these as it didnt like NTSC transmissions.

Also if i put a card in the card slot, nothing happens and i notice the menu it has "Intilizing" all the time? Chip face down?

avi files play back fine! All i need now for mkv support!

Is the french TNT sat working in this box's slot?
It won't take my swiss via3 card, so I imagine it's a nogo, either.

Are you using the official or non-official firmware?

    Hi all,

The HD-200 is working for me very nicely; having already been kitted out with Sky+ HD, the real plus with this is the recording (and removal of the file recording) and ability to turn it into different types of file (or DVD).

Now, here's the thing: I have no problems when I play the .ts files, or edit the ads out, or convert the files **when the channels are non-HD or non-DTT (which are labelled as HD, even though they're not.)**

But opening, playing and converting/editing the DTT or HD channel recordings is proving less than straightforward.

Has anyone found an ideal program for opening/viewing/transcoding these "HD" .ts files?

I must have gone though a million codec installs by now, but there is obviously something unique about these. (They do, of course, play perfectly fine on the HD-200 itself.)

    Any thoughts welcome.

I always found VideoRedo to be excellent, which has MPEG4 in Beta now. It's not free though.

Funny enough I am on a 14-day trial of this (fully functional, very kind of them.)

It works a treat for ad-break removal on any of the standard Sky channels, but not DTT/HD.

Does it work for you on HD DTT, HD-SAT channels?

As a customer I got in on the MPEG4 Beta (i.e. Irish DTT and HD sat channels), been a while since I was over there but I know the Public release is imminent.

Ah, that explains why mine is not up to scratch. Interesting - that may solve the issue then, once it's released. Thanks for the help.

What programme (GOM Player, KM Player etc) do other people use to view .ts files? (I would have thought VLC would've handled these, but not had much joy...)

    Playing those HD streams

One simple program is all you need. Its called TSDOCTOR an excellent free program for sorting TS files and PID errors.

I have just done a test on the RTE NL streams with it and it fixes them.

http://www.cypheros.de/files/TSDoctor_Eng.exe (byte: might be one to sticky)

    Install and Open the program.

File, open the TS file (if its a TRP rename it to TS beforehand)

It will tell you that the full range is set for the DVB stream and ask you do you want to fix the flag.

Then Click fix. It saves the TS file with a _fixed extension on the end.

It now opens with VLC no problem. Sorted. Takes about 5 seconds.

    Transcoding/Remuxing

Transcoding/Remuxing I must have tried em all TSMuxer/Danni/Handbrake etc - most are riddled with trojans.

Try this for transcoding...... its free. http://www.cocoonsoftware.com/download/Install-Hd-4-0-0-8.zip Dont download it anywhere else as there are malware versions all over the shop. I have succesfully dont it in reverse, ie have used it for remuxing H264 MKV to TS and then using C-techs simple Java Converter to make a TRP file so it plays on a Sat Box directly. It works but takes an hour to transcode a 2 hour video. It generate the Service type fake PIDs which has been a problem all along!

Yes - Cheers STB!!! I also was wondering why HD .ts files wouldn't play with VLC. They do now :D
