Do itunes gift cards go out of date

Hi all, Trying to use the old credit card less and thinking of just topping up my itunes account with gift cards i can buy in HMV. But what i'm wondering is do they go out of date. I can sometimes spend 10 or 15 a month but then other months it might only be 1 euro. So i don't want to lose money on my account and buy songs…

I'm not sure I think they expire after a year if the account is inactive. You certainly don't have to buy a new card every month.
