Dell C610: what does this button do ?

05-01-2010 05:13PM#1On my Dell C610, there's a (hardware) button, marked "i", just to the right of the power button, and above the scroll-lock light.
Does anybody know what it's for? I've pressed it on several occasions, and nothing I could detect ever happened

It's an old "Internet" button for launching Internet Explorer, probably doesn't work unless the required software is installed (which I assume is gone because your probably now have XP on the machine instead of NT or 98). Some software can let you customise these hotkeys.On my Dell C610, there's a (hardware) button, marked "i", just to the right of the power button, and above the scroll-lock light.

* (1) Press this button to launch the Dell™ Solution Center, where you can find support and tools that Dell has installed on your computer.
* (2) Press this button to launch your default Internet browser.
* (3) Press this button to launch www.dell.com, or reprogram the button to launch a program of your choice.
* (4) Press this button to open your default e-mail program, or reprogram the button to launch a program of your choice.
PS: That is an old laptop, might be time for an upgrade where the I button turns on the wireless
