When I first became addicted to Guitar Hero 2, after particularly long sessions, I would see things in real life scrolling towards me, sometimes even the coloured notes. I also developed a twitch for a while.

Ok I don't say this often enough but people please listen to these songs. They're by a band called The Hold Steady. I'm pretty sure some of you have already listened to them before but for those who havn't they're class. *Waits for the impending "that music is craaaaap"*

That kinda happened me it looked like the wall and the tv were scrolling. It was weird, I'm glad it's not just me

It's a common one, I think it's called the tetris effect, because that's when it was first noticed.

I know I've posted about this guy once or twice before but I think he deserves one more. I've listened to his album New Leaves more than anything else since I got it in August. Really lush, layered, usually soft indie singer-songwriter stuff. Brilliant, conversational lyrics. Phwoar.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's fantastic, but he just didn't do the song justice.

Though to be honest, I don't think anybody should ever cover Pink Floyd. Ever. They're too good. Same goes for The Beatles actually.

If you like Whale Song you'll probably love their album The Moon & Antarctica, if you haven't got it already. AFAIK Whale Song is a B-Side from that era...

I have that album along with a few others. Haven't actually listened to TM&A that much though since I only got into Modest Mouse a week before their gig in Galway last month. In saying that 'Tiny Cities...' is brilliant. Love the singer by the way, he's a young Black Francis in vocal ability and stature.

(At the gig in Galway they didn't actually play Float On - which was the one song most of the crowd seemingly came to listen/watch. Served the eejits in the audience right considering they didn't shut the **** up during any of the songs besides Dashboard.)

My companion and I arrived at the Radisson at 7.30, straight off a bus from Dublin. Doors opened at 8. There was literally no one there so we were first in the queue, first in the door, and front and centre for the entire show

I was happy anyway: they played The View, Tiny Cities, Parting of the Sensory and 3rd Planet.

I think Good News is their most accessible and well-known album, and it's a fantastic album, but M&A is really something special. I think you and it could have a serious relationship Monzo. I really do!
