I had a conversation with a friend of mine before about this who reckons it's somewhat cyclical and alternative/indie's the first step back towards a better mainstream

I dunno if it's cyclical. It seems that one genre is replaced by a completely new genre, not a genre that was mainstream before. That said, my musical knowledge extends to the 70's, vaguely the 60's, anything beyond that doesn't exist to me tbh. If it is cyclical, I have to unlucky enough to have been a teen in the middle of the "pop-culture" crap part of the cycle.

She already is big though. If it weren't for Michael Jackson dying, the album would have went to number 1 and it's surely among the best selling albums of the year.

Played Rock Band last night (friends 21st) and managed to scream my way through these five songs. Over 90% in all of them except Under Pressure. Boo-yah!

(In fairness, they were all either easy or medium, but I'm deluding myself into thinking I can actually sing!

Never listened to the full album actually, but I love all the singles that were released from it, especially Everlong.
Monkey Wrench is a fun one to sing, especially when it comes to the really screamy bit:

At the gig in Marley Park in 07 I screamed that bit. Was the loudest by a mile, could swear Dave could hear me like! Needless to say my voice was shot after... :pac:
