Who wants to take bets on how long this thread would last if it said "are all blacks crazy?" or "are all travellers crazy?"

Well, I for one didn't get involved in this thread as I felt a few comments made about women were wrong and didn't want to get involved.

I have 'thanked' a few posts though.

As long as men cling to the antiquated notions that men are inherently better then women and use the differences between some men and women to try point it out.

However, this above comment has to be the biggest load of rubbish that I have yet to read on 'After Hours'.

I saw the thread title and read the posts but didn't think it worthy of a reply because it reminds me of what my father might have said ( in a humorous way ) to his mates /anybody

See oh deary me I for got to put the word some before men in that line.
It was made to see how many people would decry it but who would not decry any of the other sexist claptrap in the thread.

But that attitude does still unfortunately exist, I wish I would never run into it again ever but alas just like these threads I can't seen it not happening again.

But they aren't... women are, get with the times.

Uber PC Right On Response; How does this work with people who are transgender? Does a man who becomes a woman become bonkers, or does a woman who becomes a man lose her bonkerness?

    Jeez now I'm all confused.

Actual Response; Some women are nutters, some men are nutters. I think women can inflict more emotional pain, whereas men just have a physical fight and move on. I know some of my female friends have hurt me much more than my male friends ever could.

AH response; Women are stoopid/There is no wimmins on the internetz.

Since when are mods allowed to double up as trolls?!

You're a good guy, but don't take anything on AH personal. Thats a mistake to start with, I rarely part-take in AH's 'serious' threads for the same reason. Thaed doesn't even need my recommendation, shes as solid as you're going to get :)

    Yeah, we're all bonkers

By not 'thanking' their posts I am doing my bit to let them know they are wrong.

If I was to post a reply to every post on 'After Hours' that I felt was 'wrong' then I would have a hell of higher post count for four years.

I have entered quite a few songs in the 'Best Song Of The Decade' thread and I don't expect everyone who disagrees to reply and say so. Not thanking me has been enough for me to realise that not everyone loves 'Pure Shores' like I do :)

You forgot or it was meant to see how many people (men) would decry it?

    Which is it?

    You make me laugh Thaedydal.

It is far far from a feeling superiority that men feel in regards to women today, trust me.

I appreciate that, I do and I try not to take posts personal unless a personal comment is made.

However, if I was to post something akin to that comment on TLL, I would most likely get a ban for trolling.

You are right in taking that attitude but part of me wishes you wouldn't.

Thaed has stated on another thread that some women feel 'uneasy' on AH and I think, if that's true, it is sad - as AH could well do with far more posts from women.

This thread was the perfect time to slap down a few males who were coming out with some immature nonsense and maybe free the place up so that AH can become a place were more women will feel welcome to post.

Any debate is going to be far richer if both sexes are represented equally.

Craziness isn't gender specific. A lot of men are selfish c*nts, a lot of women drive me up the wall and haven't a clue what they actually want. On both sides, you've decent ones too. It's a people thing, not a gender thing.

But since you've asked specifically about women, allow me to rant :D

Firstly, the overwhelming majority of women I know don't want actually "someone nice". They're the same people who entertain assh*les that treat them awfully, while ignoring the guys who genuinely care for them. In the same breath, they'll tar all men as "bastards". It drives me nuts when I hear a woman saying they just want a nice, quiet guy that treats them well. Most women really don't seem to.

Also, I hate self-deprication. If I pay you a compliment, I mean it. Fair enough your self-esteem mightn't be the highest, but don't come along and assume I'm only saying it to be polite, or I'm only saying it because I want to ride you. Of course, the amount of guys who say it for those reasons doesn't actually help my cause, but when I compliment women who should know me better and they react like that it wrecks my head.

Not all women are bad though, but dear God there's a lot of looking. On the upside, what's rare is beautiful I guess :)

Personally I can only do it for a limited amount of time before I get hacked off or I get called a feminazi again or told to feck off back to the serious forums like I was last time.

I forgot to put it in, it's passed midnight and it's been a loooong day.

That worry s me tbh, and that disenfranchisement of men who get a lot of negative crap thrown at them as well just for being male can lead to a lot of very angry young men who resent what they see as women having it easier,
when the truth of it is both genders are rightly fúcked and only by working to stop causal sexism and understand more the differences and similarities can we make changes to society for everyone, it's something I find myself very away of as my son and daughter get older.

I can think of 20 female posters and near as many male posters of the top of y head who don't post in AH because of thread like this one, or at least how this one started out.

yes AH is a lot better then it used to be but it burned out a lot of people reporting posts and feeling then there wasn't any point reporting posts at all.
And I am pretty sure the AH mods are sick of seeing reported posts with my name on them and me popping up in threads like this.

Bless them maybe I should send them a rennies gift basket.

Not going to happen truly when female posters are out numbered 4 to 1 on the site, which again is an improvement, I remember when there was only 20 female posters in it's entirety.

It will only get worse if what I see happening in today's society carries on.

Well, I think the mistake that society makes is that they take when young men say at face value. They see how they act and strut and think all is well inside their heads when it is anything but.

I feel young girls are free to express themselves more and so their issues are out in the open whereas young men just stut around trying to impress each other and no one sees that they might have problems until it's too late.

Boy / young men want to be cool. Seen as being cool, even somewhere as silly as AH which is also another reason I didn't reply to some of the posts as I can see that there is no real venom in their posts - just lots of tongues on cheeks and a wish for a few 'thanks' maybe.

    It's not that bad.

Abi started a thread a while back asking what girls wanted on a night out and I clearly remember that she had to complain mid-thread that the girls weren't posting. Now, that can't be because AH is an intimidating place to venture into as there were no negative attitudes from what I remember.
    Thaedydal wrote: »

I don't want to keep mentioning that thread but I did say to you at the time that the only time I can remember a poster getting very personal in a men / women debate on AH, was when a women had to be banned for personal abuse against myself.

So when you suggest that the MODs could make the place more welcoming to women, I really don't see how they could. Personal abuse, name calling etc etc has been a banning offence eversince I got here at least.

Have you personally tried to do anything about those numbers?

Maybe you could start a thread on TLL and ask the posters there what they want from AH mods if what you say is true. Ask them what it would take for them to feel more 'at ease' when they post here. I'm sure some of the AH mods would more than willing to answer any questions that are put to them on such a thread.

Drive you up the wall, saying one thing but meaning another...holding grudges forever, always thinking we should know how the feel and think

Going on about this, that and the other...complain you don't listen to them, any pet peeves or stories you wanna share?

It sounds to me that you just don't understand women, maybe you have a lot of growing up to do.

Posters if you think like the OP you will never have a good relationship with a girl and you will end up a sad lonely person posting threads complaining about how bonkers women are.

Don't end up like the OP, have fun with women, respect them and yourself and they'll respect you back.

Thread closed as the OP is now banned for trolling.
