Plus, giving some third party app access to my profile? Eh... No. Facebook's bad enough as it is.

    No ,

But fair play to everyone who signed up to it with their email address and password

Let me know how that works out for you

    LOL. Deadly!

I've no idea what this stalker catcher thing is, but... password? Fook.

Sounds like a honeytrap for this fellow:

I dont sign up to any of those applications.

I dont care who looks at my profile+pics. I have allmy pics set to Friends only so I really dont care if one of my friends wants to view them 20 times a day

Hope it doesn't work, my girlfriend has a couple of very attractive friends :P

    And also ...

"Step 1 - Join the group
Step 2 - Invite atleast 30 friends to join the group"

If it works, why do they need you to invite 30 friends ?

I smell .... a pyramid scheme or something of the sort

I haven't encountered a way to see who has been viewing your profile - a feature that bebo actually has.

    Wait....

    ...what?

What? You didn't know bebo had the whos been visiting my profile feature? If you have a bebo account, go to the home section, and click the page view number.

It'll show you who has been on your page recently. Note the recently part. Also, note that people can go on your profile as private, and you'll have no idea who they are. So, yeah, for stalker paranoiacs its not an ultimate solution.

But, then, just setting your profile to private is.

Just put everything on to private.

Add people you know, ie; friends.

    No more stalkers.

    Friends->Create List.

And just sort em out that way! No way in hell can any one of my "misc" group view my profile/photos! Mwahahahaaaa! <sigh> I have so very few friends.

My profile is private on bebo(I know it's crap and am going to delete it) but I think it still shows the person who was on your page.

Like if I go on someones page that isn't my friend I think it still shows up to tell them I'd been there!!

As for Facebook. I've set mine to private and also disabled the search for me so that even mates find it really difficult to find me. Ha.

Exactly. Obviously most guys are worried that hot girls who they are friends with on facebook will be able to see how many times they have viewed their profile recently, not if some randomer has "stalked" their page!

Well, the privacy settings have changed now, and the default is that even people who aren't your friends can view your page, until you change the settings yourself. So would you be able to use facebook stalker to see who's viewing your page that way - like, someone who isn't in your friends list?

Why are you some really important/hot person everyone that you think someone would want to stalk you? Unless you want to see if any hot "guys/girls" have been checking you out.

Seriously, just change the default settings - much easier.

I presume it tells you whoever has been posting most on your page and then tries to convince you that these are the people 'stalking/viewing' you. Also probably throws a few random names off your friends list into the mix
    to confuse.
    Utter nonsense.

Yet 500k+ people have signed up, the same type of people that still forward messages about msn/aol/yahoo/facebook shutting down/planning to charge for the site. The same people that forward emails proclaiming that if you forward the email to enough people, Bill Gates will come around and give you oral.

    Idiots essentially.

Agreed. Although you forgot Facebook users, as well.

Haha, lots of people on here seem to think I'm afraid of being 'stalked' on facebook! I'm not, I was just curious if the app works, that's all.

are you talking about the visitor map??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 442 ✭✭smiley girl

When Facebook stalker catcher first came out i did join up, all that it told me was it only had access to posts, comments and such but not page views. oh and it was only anyone on your friends list. Also, the top ten 'stalkers' included someone who was no longer a facebook friend and had no access to my page at all! TBH i want my friends to go on my page, thats why there my friends!

I think the reason facebook stalker dosen't work is because there are no admins on the site. Maybe it has something to do with that.

I have no problem telling people i am stalking them, i leave nice comments on the photos of people i dont know.

"You looked nice in the shop the other day, hope you drank that milk before the 8th! same time next tuesday. xxx"

Its fun to buzz off people.
