Do you put hugs/kisses when you send texts, emails or cards to mates?

I do to good mates, always. All of us do, never thought it was weird until last night.

An 'o'... hugs and kisses are xoxo

    Never used that myself though

O is a hug, hence xoxoxoxo on the end of messages.

This should be multiple choice tbh. I do sometimes, to friends, bf, siblings, mother, but it depends on the tone of the message, not all the time.

    I never get any 'o's :(

An o is a hug. I do sometimes-if someone is having a bad time or somethin i'll put a kiss at the end of my message/card to show i care. And when im sending cards to my nephews and nieces to show i love them.
But i don't do generally no.

EDIT:Yeah there should be a 'sometimes' option on the poll-none of the options really apply to me.

    Hold it hold hold it.

OP, are you female? If so, I understand.

Because, a male sending a text or card to a male wouldn't put a kiss, would he?

A male sending to his wife or GF or mistress may do this, but that would be the only
reason I would imagine. I wouldn't send kisses to any female, she would have to
be my wife or GF or mistress....

    Only if they're hot.

    God, no

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,284 ✭✭✭✭walshb

Metrosexuals wouldn't do that. I would consider myself quite liberal and open and easy going, but I see absolute ZERO reason for a male to include kisses or hugs when sending
emails or texts to other males. It makes no sense, and is rather strange really.

To lads it's an ironic statement (usually meant to mean 'I hate you and this is sarcastic'); or to girls 'I want to ride you, a single kiss makes me look caring'

Depends who I am sending the texts and emails to .If it's family , close friends or aquaintances I usually put a few xx at the end and recieve same in return .

I know why you started this thread. They got to you in that other thread did'nt they.:D

Anyway i don't put hugs and kisses in texts though i know a lot of women who do even when they're just texting friends. I thinks its pretty gay for one man to put a x in a text to another man.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,640 ✭✭✭Pushtrak

Never have, probably never will. Phone calls tend to be my MO rather than text messages.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,148 ✭✭✭✭KnifeWRENCH

I only write x's at the bottom of cards for my mother and my grandmother. Anyone else gets a card full of indifference.

Never do it in texts or emails. Don't see the point.

If you start including them then you have to establish criteria for not including them and it all gets way too complicated, so no, never.

From living in France, I've developed the nasty habit of affixing "biz" to the end of all messages I send to women. Even when I'm back in Ireland, and the recipient doesn't speak French...

    No.

Unless I'm really drunk or reeeally want some or drunk and really want some at the same time.

That or if someone is really upset.

I don't fling kisses round willy nilly.
