Sitting in work here on Thomas Street and there is a lot of black smoke billowing out of Guinness. It looks really bad. City is being blocked out because of it. No idea what it might be but I'd say some poor schmuck in the factory is running around like a headless chicken after some major c0ck up.

So what will we do if we lose our prescious Guinness factory. Our economy would be extra fcuked.

    http://www.breakingnews.ie/ireland/firefighters-contain-guinness-plant-blaze-439148.html
The Dublin fire service has dealt with a major fire at the Guinness Store House at St. James' Gate in the city centre.

Up to nine units contained the blaze at Victoria Quay, but motorists are being advised to avoid the area as visibility is affected.

Gardaí said they may have to close off Victoria Quay on the South Quays but at present there are no delays on Thomas Street or James's Street.

I wonder if the fire brigade used foam instead of water, just to make it look like a Guinness head on the building.

    From facebook

"Guinness 250 Ireland We can confirm that there was a small fire at the St. James's Gate brewery site this morning. It has been contained. No-one was injured and there is no impact whatsoever on production. It occurred in a building that is seldom used."

    Hi,

I work on the 5th floor in a building on Harcourt st. this fire was by no means a small fire, it was massive, it looks like its going down but it was amazingly black & big at first. A big fire definitely, the wind was blowing eastwards & all the city that side was under thick black smoke.

There are reports of a bomb scare in James' hosp & a part of it has been closed. (I def think this is just a rumour)

Someone's in for a big insurance payout!

Glad everyone's ok, aparently nobody was hurt. The skyline is still a little smokey but starting to clear.
