I broke mine gold teeth and plastic broke using flathead screwdriver. Has anyone had this problem before? I the black clip flew off when i unclipped the blu ray cable from the motherboard i didnt know until it was too late. I tried to open the mouth to no avail then i realized the clip was missing and i ruined the cable and connector. Any help would be greatly appreciated. For starters where to buy the connector thats on the motherboard that has gold pins. What website I tried Mouser and Digikey. Mouser was closed i will call them tomorrow hopefully they'll have it. Replies would be appreciated thanks mates. :)

    Your boned !

Also sounds like you shouldn't be allowed near a screwdriver !
Sorry for the unhelpful comments but its a comment nonetheless !

You can't do that as the motherboard & the daughterboard on the Blu-Ray drive are paired. You can't replace one without replacing both from the same PS3.

It sounds like you have made a right mess of it, what you were using a screwdriver to remove a flat ribbon cable I don't know.

Are there no hacked ones you can buy that can be software-modded to pair? Shouldn't be that big a job as it's all low-level stuff, unless there's a chip somewhere that physically pairs them.

You are right Flynner13 how simple I will check right now :). I messed up the ribbon cable because some of the gold teeth from connector scratched and chipped off the gold contacts on the ribbon as I was trying to connect the ribbon to the connector (gold teeth were not straight). This teaches me and I hope others if it doesnt open at first search the internet for image results for the problem it might save you from damaging the product. Thx to all for replies. :)
